MRI / Open MRI / MRA

MRI / OPEN MRI / MRA PROCEDURES:

MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING (MRI)

An MRI examination uses radio waves and a strong magnetic field rather than x-rays to provide remarkably clear and detailed pictures of internal organs and tissues.
MRI

This technique allows our radiologists to diagnose a broad range of conditions in all parts of the body, including cancer, heart and vascular disease, stroke, and joint and musculoskeletal disorders. MRI of the head, for example, is useful in diagnosing tumors of the brain as well as disorders of the eyes and inner ear.

In addition, MRI is unique in that it can create detailed images of blood vessels without the use of contrast material.

OPEN MRI

GE Signa Ovation Open MRI
The GE Signa Ovation is a state-of-the-art MRI system offering the quality of High-Field images with the comfort of an open MRI. This unit's open architecture allows you to see more of the scan room, putting even the most claustrophobic patient at ease. The Ovation is the most open MRI available. When a child needs an MRI exam, parents may sit with their child, even holding the child's hand, while we perform the exam.

MRI Image (Brain Stem)
An MRI exam uses radio waves and a strong magnetic field rather than x-rays to provide remarkably clear and detailed pictures of internal organs and tissues. This technique has proven valuable for the diagnosis of a broad range of conditions in all parts of the body, including cancer, heart and vascular disease, stroke, and joint and musculoskeletal disorders. MRI of the head, for example, is useful in diagnosing tumors of the brain as well as disorders of the eyes and the inner ear.

In addition, MRI is unique in that it can create detailed images of blood vessels without the use of contrast material (although there is a trend toward the use of special MRI-contrast material such as Gadolinium).
